June 15,'1965
The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral,
Florida was held at 8 o'clock P.M. on the 15th ,day of June, 1965, at the
City Hall Annex, 1911 Jackson Ave *, Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Mayor Thum called the Meeting to Order and the Reverend .John Mayor
pave the Invocation.
Item 1. Installation Ceremony
The Oath of Office was administered by Judge Robert McGregor to
Councilmen Richard R. Thum, Martin Schrider and Prank Moog.
The roll was then called by the Clerk. Officials present were
Richard R. Thumr Mayor, Councilwoman: Frances Ann Jamieson, Comcllment
Frank Hoop, Jack Hurck and Martin Schrider, City Nanagert Joseph Rickards,
City Attorney: T. David Burns, City Clerks Donna J. Anderson and Sgt. —.at-
Armst L. W. Nichols.
With no objections, Item 1.— New Business was placed next on the
:lcenda.
Election of Favor & Mayor Pro Tem
Mr. Hurck placed in nomination for Mayor, the name Richard R. Thum.
Mr. Schrider seconded the Motion which carried unanimously. Mr. Hurck
then moved the nominations for Mayor be closed. Mir. Moog seconded the
Yotion and it carried unanimously. Mr. Schrider then made a Fiction that the
nose Frances Ann Jamieson be placed in nomination for 11tiyor Pro Tom. Mr.
Hoop socaedad the Motion and 11 carried unanimously. Mr.. Hurck moved that
nominations for Mayor Pro Test be closed. Ms. Moog seconded the Motion
which carried unanimously.
Mayor Thrum then rend a Resolution electing a Mayor mid Mayor Pro
Tom of the City of Cape Canaveral, providing an'effective data.
Ch a Motion by Mr. Hurck, seconded by Rr. Moog and carried unanimously,
the Resolution was adopted unanimously.
Judge Robert McGragor then gave the Oath of Office to Mayor Richard

Thurm and Mayor Pro Tom Frances Ann Jamieson and Mayor Thum concluding
the Installation Ceremony gave the Oath. of Office to the new Council nembe.rs,
Schrider and Ma. Hoog..
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Junel;, 1965, were read by
the Clerk and were approved with no additions or corrections.
The lUnutea of the Special Meeting of June 8, 1965, were approved
with the correction in the title of Item 1. Board, of Adjustment, after
the words Cities Service Station Variance Request, strike the words.
"Astronaut Blvd. and Long Point Road" and insert in lieu thereof the word
"(S.nlelburger):'
Aoproval of the Treasury Report was withheld for clarification.
The following resignations were read b7 Mayor Thum and accepted
with regret by the Council. Mr. Rex. liorris, Chairman of the Zoning Board.

Mayor Thum gave 2nd & Final Reading to an Ordinance Amending The
Cfficial Zoning Map To Rezone A Particular Parcel.. Of land From R-4
Classification To A C-1' Clannificationj Providing An Effective Date. Mr.
Hurck made a Nation to .approve 2nd & Finale Reading. Mr. Hoog seconded the
Ysnt!on. Hrs. Jamieson ,made a Nbtian to Amend by striking everything after
the enactirg clause and substituting in lieu thereof new Sectiona- 1,2,3,
4,5, and 6, an aho,m in attached Ordinance. Mr. Hoog ascended the Nation.

On a lotion by Mr. Hurck, seconded by Yr. Hoog, Item 2 was tabled
until the next meeting of the Council, with the unanimous vote of the
Cask 11.

Mayor Thum read the Resolution and on a Motion by I"u•. Hurck,

Item 11. Annroval of Chanrs Order -Rill of Stills & Varnum
On a Motion by Mr. Moog, seconded by M.r. Schridur, and carried
un %nlrnusly, this Item was turned over to the City'lianager and the Wilding
Inscector for handling.
There boing no other business before the Council, the F'neting was
ad tourned on a Motion by Fir. Hurek, seconded by Mr. lloog and carried unani-
::ously.
