Title
Reappoint School Board Representative to the Cape Canaveral Local Planning
Agency
Discussion
The Brevard County Interlocal Agreement for Public School Facility Planning and
School Concurrency, in accordance with Florida Statutes 163.3174, states that
"Each Municipality and County shall include a representative of the school district
appointed by the school board as a nonvoting member of the local planning
agency - However this subsection does not prevent the governing body of the
local government From granting voting status to the school board member." The
individual noted in the recommendation below has expressed a desire to continue
to serve the Interests of Brevard's students as the School Board's representative
to the Cape Canaveral Local Planning Agency. At the Capital Outlay Committee
meeting on October 15, 2015, the Members recommended that the School Board
representative be appointed to the same term length as the other local planning
agency members. The Cape Canaveral LPA members all serve 3 year terms and
the current reappointment proposes to be consistent with that term length.
Recommendation
Reappoint Dr. John Fredrickson as the School Board Representative to the Cape
Canaveral Local Planning Agency for a three year term commencing on May 13,
2016 and ending on May 12, 2019.. Sponsoring School Board Member: Mr. John
Craig, District 2.
