The second agenda item is Request No. 1 -04 for the City's first electronic message center. This message center will be installed on the existing sign located at City Hall. Keith Chapman from Sign Access, Inc. will present the request to the Board. The third agenda item is Request No. 1 -05 is to install an electronic message center, and reduce the entire sign to 15' in overall height. The sign is located at the Christ Lutheran Church, 7511 N. Atlantic Avenue. Maryse LoBean from Art -Kraft Sign Co. will present the request to the Board. Randy Wasserman, Chairperson, called the meeting to Order at 6:00 p.m. All persons giving testimony were sworn in by Kim Kopp, Assistant City Attorney. MEMBERS PRESENT Randy Wasserman Joyce Kelley Rosalie Wolf MEMBERS ABSENT Walter Bowman OTHERS PRESENT Kim Kopp Susan Chapman NEW BUSINESS Chairperson 1 st Alternate Assistant City Attorney Board Secretary 1. Approval of Meeting Minutes: February 16, 2011. Motion by Rosalie Wolf, seconded by Randy Wasserman, to approve the meeting minutes of February 16, 2011. Vote on the motion carried unanimously. 2. Request No. 11-03 — Beachside Townhomes, 2nd Addition, 502 & 504 Adams Avenue — James Morgan, Applicant. The Board members reviewed elevations and color samples of the proposed townhouse project. James Morgan, Applicant, explained that the proposed banding, window sills, and shutters would be decorative; each unit will have a front circular window to allow natural light to penetrate inside; tropical landscaping; stone will be installed separating the driveways; a/c units will be located in the back; a small patio slab will be constructed in the back, just outside the sliding glass doors; a shadow-box fence will be installed along the west property line matching the existing natural wood shadow-box fence along the east property line. He advised that the Richards paint colors will be: building - #0462, Resting Place; trim - #0465, Earthen Cheer; and the roof will be charcoal color shingles. Following brief discussion, the Board members agreed that the proposed townhouse was compatible with surrounding properties. Community Appearance Board Meeting Minutes June 15, 2011 Page 2 3. Election of Chairperson and Vice Chairperson. Chairperson Wasserman advised that Judi Cameron had moved outside of the City; consequently, she no longer qualified as a Board member. Motion by Randy Wasserman, seconded by Rosalie Wolf to elect Joyce Kelley as Vice Chairperson. Vote on the motion carried unanimously. OPEN DISCUSSION There was no open discussion.
