Others Present: Nancy Hanson, Director of Parks and Recreation
I. Chairman H. Renshaw called the meeting to order at 5:05PM. 1-le appointed B.
Gorham as Acting Secretary for this Meeting.
II. J. Dattilo moved and B Schmidt seconded that the Minutes of the December 2, 2002
Meeting be accepted as corrected. The motion carried.
III. The Parks and Recreation Budget To -Date Report was reviewed.
IV. The Director, N. Hanson, presented her reports.
• Board Members expressed disappointment that the efforts to organize a
soccer progr. for youth in Cape Canaveral had failed, but were pleased
with the successes of other last quarter activities and programs.
• Plans to start building the half -court basketball facility near the Youth
Center and action toward the Pavilion and Rest Rooms at Manatee Park
were favorably noted.
• The Winter Program schedule was reviewed without formal comment.
• Members pledged support if required toward the start-up of a PAL
Program and Little League activities in the City.
V. The Director, N. Hanson, reported in response to an item of unfinished business that
the Public Works Department was responsible for improvement to the dune cross over
sites in the City and that all were due to be completed in March, 2003.
VI. Under New Business it was reported that the Patriot's Day Parade was scheduled for
Saturday, March 5, 2003 and Board Members were urged to volunteer their help.
VII. There being no further discussion, Chairman H. Renshaw advised the next Board
Meeting was scheduled for March 24, 2003, B. Schmidt moved to adjourn the Meeting
and C. Trautman seconded. The motion carried, and Chairman II. Renshaw adjourned
