Negotiate, draft and manage performance of contracts with all key vendors and suppliers, among which are global truck and component manufacturers. University of Phoenix (2009-present) ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR Serve as part-time on-line instructor in the Management Department, teaching “Organizational Ethics and Social Responsibility.” Grosse Ile Township, Grosse Ile, MI (1996-2004) TOWNSHIP SUPERVISOR (chief elected official) Grosse Ile Township is a Michigan general law township with a population of 11,000, an annual budget in excess of $60 million, and 100 employees. The community is comprised of 14 islands covering 10.44 sq. miles in the Detroit River and Lake Erie, linked together by numerous bridges. Under my direction, the township managed comprehensive municipal services including, police, fire, planning/zoning/building, water, sewer and sewer treatment, rubbish collection, recreation, marina, golf and airport. As the chief elected official I was responsible and actively involved with all facets of the township’s management and daily operations, including purchasing, preparing and monitoring public bidding, contract negotiations and performance evaluation, personnel matters, budgeting and auditing, and elections. As chief elected official, I ran bi-weekly televised board meetings and was the primary face of the organization with the public as well as with all suppliers and vendors.
