CITY MANAGER, City of SeaTac, SeaTac, WA; August 2005-November 2009
Supported the leadership of a seven member City Council serving 25,000 residents surrounding the major passenger and commercial airport of the Pacific Northwest. Managed an annual budget
of about $60 million and a staff of approximately 180 FTE’s. Oversaw a 2009 capital and equipment budget of $22 million resulting in well–maintained roads and parks, and $16 million
of investments in new city–owned fire, parks and transportation facilities, and accomplished mid-year savings of $2M without layoffs, furloughs, or reductions in public services. Major
professional accomplishments include:
Developing and supporting a citywide effort promoting sustainable practices including NPDES compliance, pedestrian and transit-friendly development, green building design, and both energy
and water conservation
Establishing the City’s first integrated, interdepartmental capital facility plan
Coordinating intergovernmental compacts to build and operate a misdemeanant jail, assess consolidating fire services with adjacent jurisdictions, and building a regional emergency preparedness
