HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 05-12-1964 SpecialSPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEt TING May 12, 1964 The City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral met in Special Session at 7 :30 P.M. at 130 Jackson Ave., on M1y 12, 1964. Notification of the Special Meeting was given by the City Clerk by telephone to the Members of the City Council and the City Attorney as required by Ordinance No. 19-64. The Mayor called the Meeting to Order. The City Clerk called the roll and Officials present were: Mayor Richard R. Thum, Councilmen= Jack Hurck, F. L. Murphy, khi., Eborwein,. Eugene Jandreau, and actin parlimentarian, Carl Swanson, Donna J. Anderson - City Clerk, W. H. Kimberley - Sargent -at -Arms. Item 1. Appointment of Election Board. Mayor Thum read from the Election Ordinance 4 -62, Section 11. Mr. Jandreau made a Motion that two Boards be appointed, one Board composed of 4 Inspectors and one Clerk to be assigned to Voting and the Other Board composed of 4 Inspectors and one Clerk assigned to Counting. Hr. Eberwein-sconded the Motion and it was passed unanimously. Mayor Thum then read Resolution No. 61, "BE IT W SOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: That the following named persons, Celia S. Corbett /Clerk, Erin Defuniak, Dorothy H. Harris, Ann Larson, Ingrid A. Moore are hereby named and .designated Election Board (Voting) and Juanita Lawson /Clerk, Evelyn C. Thompson, Addis Mae Reed, Margaret, Littler, Cora Lee Cook are hereby named and designated Election Board (Counting) fort he City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, to serve in Lieu of any and all present or former such said Board or Electors and Canvassing Board and all such said present or former ® members of the Board of Electors or Canvassing Board are hereby relieved of any and all duties incumbent on them insaid office." On a Motion by Mr. Jandreau, seconded by Mr. Murphy, the Resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of the Council, Mr. Jandreau made a Motion that Resolution No. 60 be placed before the Council. Mr. Murphy seconded the Motion, and it was passed unanimously. Mayor Thum read the Resolution --EE IT RiSOLVED THAT THE CITY CLERK R. INSTRUCTED V*ffDIATE1.Y TO ADDRESS A LETTER TO ALL JUDGES AT ALL LEVELS IN RRWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, STATING THAT MR. T. On a Motion by Mr. Yarphy, seconded by Mr. Jandreau, the Resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of the Council.. Mr. Murphy then made a Notion to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Jardreau.
