HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 12-17-1963Minutes Regular Meeting of December 17, 1963 City fooncil, Cape Canaveral, Florida A Regular Meeting of the City Council of Cape Canaveral, Florida was held at 7130 FN, an December 17, 1943, at the Temporary City Nall, 109 Buchanan Ave„ Cape Canaveral, Florida. City Officials present were Mayor Richard R. Thum, Councilmeni Ma. Eberwsin, Jack Hunk, Eagene Jandreau, F. L. "by, City Clark - Donna J. Anderson, City Attorney T. David Burns. The !eating was called to Order by Mayor Thum and the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 3, 1963, were read and approved. The Treasury Report was approved. OLD BUSINESS 1e Ordinance No. 22-63 was given second and final reading by Mayor Thum and on a lotion by Mr. Jandreau, seconded by Mr. KU?by, the Ordinance was adopted by unanimous vote of the Council. 2. Ordinance No. 23-43 was given second and final reading by Mayor Thum and on a Motion by Mr. Murphy and seconded by Mr. Jandreau, the Cddinamcs was adopted by unanimous vote. 3. Ordinance No. 20.63 was given second and final reading by Mayor Thum and on a Motion by Mr. "by, seconded by Mr. Hurck, the Ordinance was adopted ny unanimous vote of the Council. 4. Ordinance No. 19-43, second and final reading was postponed on a lotion by Mr. Hurck, seconded by Mr. Jandreau and passed unanimously. 5. variance Request (Jackson Minute Market - Stan Robson) Mr. Ku *w made a Notion to call the variance Request by Mr. Stan Robson from the Table.. This Notion was seconded by Mr. Eberwein and passed by majority vote with Mr. Nberwein, Mr. Hurck and Mr. Murphy voting in favor of the lotion and Mr. Jandreau obstaining. On a Notion by Mr. li rphy to grant the variance, seconded by Mr. Eberrein, the Notion passed by majority vote ofthe Council with the condition that the 50 ft. set -back be measured from the property line. Mr. Eberwein, Mr. Hurck and Mr. Muptp. voting in favor of the lotion and Mho. Jandreau opposing. s Minutes of Regular Meeting December 17, 1963 PACE 2 NEW BUSINEM 1. Ordinance No. 15 -A -63 (Amendments to Police Dept., 1 reading) Mayor Thum read Ordinance No. 15 -A -63 in its entirety and on a Notion by Mr. Jandreau, seconded by Mr. Hurck, the Council voted unanimously to approve the first reading. 2. On a Notion by Mr. Jandraau, seconded by Mr. M4rpFy, the Council voted unanimously to approve tthe first reading on Ordinance No. 24 -63 entitled "APPOINTMENT OF A TEMPORARY JUDGE.■ 3. Variance Bequest - Cities Service Station On a Notion by Mr. Hurck, sedonded by Mr. Jandreau and passed unanimously, the Cities Service Variance Request was tabled until a letter could be obtained from the adjoining property owner. 4. A Request for Vacation of Plat by Max &ewer was placed on the Agenda for January 14, 1964, on a Motion by Mr. Murphy to adopt a Resolution entitled "RFSOLUTIM TO CONSIDER ADVISABILITY OF ABANDONING AND DISCIAIH410 A PORTION OF A ROAD AND ALLEY." seconded by Mr. Eberwein and passed unanimously. 5. An Amendment to the ADC Ordinance No. 6443 was read by Mayor Thum and on a Motion by Mr. Hurek to approve the First Reading, seconded by Mr. Eberwein, the Notion to approve paned with Mr. liberwein, Mr. Marck and Mr. Murphy voting for and Mr. Jandreau obstaining. 6. Mr. Jandreau made a Motion to purchase and erect a flag pole. Yr. Hurck seconded the Motion and the Council unanimously passed the Motion and appointed Mr. Hurck to make the arrangements for purchase. On a Notion by Mr. Jandreau, seconded by *.
