City Council
August 13, 1963
A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City Of Cape .
Canaveral. Florida was hold on August 13, 1963 at the temporary
City Hall, 109 Buchanan Ave., Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Members present weret Mayor Richard Thurm,' William Eferwein,
Jack,Nurck, Eugene Jandreau, F.L. Murphyl City Clerk - temporary -
Maxine Pearson] City Attorney - Osorge Ritchie.
'Meeting was called to order by Mayor Thurm for the purpose of
announcing resignation of Mrs. Shirley Jenkinsi City Clerk and appoin-
ting Maxine Pearson as temporary Deputy, with inorein* of salary to
$65.00 per week. Motion was made by Mr. Hurck, seconded by Mr. Jandreau
and passed unanimously.
The Central Brevard Planning Commission issue was briefed by the
City Attorney, Mr. Ritchie and Mr. J.D. Wingfield, East Central Florida
Regional Planning representative - points were stressed regarding
"interpretat+on of law - deciphering phraseology of ordinance ".
Numerous sections were brought to the attention of the citizens by
Mr. Ritchie and Mr. Wingfield. Notion xaa made by Mr. Hurck and
seconded by Mr. Murphy that City of Cape Canaveral NOT participate in
the Central BrovarA.Planning Commission; was passed unanimously.
Sewerage Plants An area feasible for plant was raised with an
appropriation of ,500.00 for appraisal and expenditures. Four (4) acres
were suggested for future.- additional as City grows. This was brought
up by Mayor Therm.' Mr. Jandreau made Notion for this and Mr. Harck
seconded this and no further discussion - all unanimously agreed.
Zoning Ordlnnnos and Related Subleotst Mr. Hurck opened dis-
cussion with the "duties of the Mayor" and "Building Inspector ". The

'�,,t,hen turned over to the Mayor. The Mayor pointed out that
the cofiould be re- examined and rewritten to clarify many con-
flicting interpretations of ' 1 '�.4 Mr. Hunk queried Mr. Jandreau
regarding this, and Mr. Jandreau pointed outt t this was suggested
to the Council to have meeting to discuss the Wk The meeting
has not been act up yet.
Mr. Hurck further emphasised the need of removal of the Building
Inspector} trailer park limitations to units per area. Mr. Jandreau
suggested that the Building Inspector have time to answer questions in own
behalf, and aoaing questions by various contractors be clarified in the
Ordinance.
Mayor Therm asked that the meeting be adjourned. Motion was made
by Hr. Murphy and seconded by Mr. Eberwein. Meeting adjourned at lotlo PH
Corrections are hereby made that Mr.. Hurck made a Motion /f0 the removal
of the Building Inspector and was Becondedej_ 211, i/ !`•�2� ..7�
by Mr. Murphy. The Motion was tabled until
August 20th Meeting to give Building Deputy City Clerk
Inspector time to answer in his own behalf.
This Motion was made by Mr. Jandreau and
seconded by Mr. Eber ein.J
