The Recreation Complex committee met on. May 13, 1975
at City Hall. The meeting was called to order at •
5 :1O p. m. .
Members present'were:J. Butler, B. Laws, C. Van 4agner,
J. Quatse, A. Thurm, S. Mare,L. Russell and H. 3.ham.e.
Others present were: City Manager-, Bert Francis and
John Allen of Allen Engineering, Inc.
Plans for the complex werepresented by John. Allen.
The site plan and facilities were then reviewed.
Placement of the tennis courts was approved.
Handball court plow were then reviewed. It ;'as
stated that the submitted plan ma?kes the courts
acceptable for official competition.
Shuffleboard court plans were reviewed.
Sprinkler system plan was presented •
Statements on the electrical system made were as
follows:
1. Metal -halide latps are 3,OOO dollars more
than the Quartz lamps. M-H lamps are more efficient
and use less power for the same amount .of light.
M--H lighting is more preferred by tennis.players.
2. Concrete poles was recommended.
3. Recommendation that the controls. for all
lights be housed in central breaker box.
The project will be advertised in the Today Newspaper
with bids being opened on June 18, 1975 at 2:00 p.in.
at City Hall.
L. Russell :moved that plans be accepted as presented,
A. Thurm seconded the motion. The motion passed by
unanimous approval of the committee. -
Meeting adjourned. at 6:30 p.m.
