The Recreation Department began the quarter with a Spring
Fling Racquetball Tournament, which was held on April 7, 8 & 9 th
Seventy players from Brevard and surrounding counties
participated. A full report is attached.
The annual Easter Egg Hunt attracted two hundred and seven
children this year. Two thousand and ninety eggs, stuffed with toys
and candy vere used. The hunt included children from pre-school
through 3rd grade and wits held on April 22" at Canaveral City
Park. A hill report is attached.
A Fishing Contest, m-sponsored by the Fishing & Diving Center,
was held on May 13"' at Freddie Patrick Park, Port Canaveral.
Fifty-one kids, ages 6-16 participated in the contest. A hill report is
attached.
Brevard Youth Soccer League held registration at the Recreation
Center for the fall season 01131111C 3" 1111d 24tb.
The YMCA opted not to hold any activities in Cape Canaveral this
summer. Tliey may offer t-ball in the fall.
Summer special classes and activities are going well. Movies and
More are donating the movies we show on Friday afternoons. We
averaged 31 attendees per movie in 'June. Arts & Crafts classes had
very good attendance in June as vell as the junior tennis clinic.
