OCTOBER, NOVEMBE.IR & DECBER 1999.
Fall brought a flurry of activity to the Recreation Center.
The Halloween Haunted House/Forest was held on October 28t. The Recreation
Department's staff, along with many volunteers "scared" the 300+ participants. The
Sheriffs Department personnel designed, built and manned the Haunted Ilouse. They did
a great job, and, I believe they and their families had a great deal of fin with the project.
(report attached)
The semi annual Kids Fishing Contest wheld on November 13'. (report attached)
The Recreation Complex's 24' Anniversary Racquetball Tournament was held on
November 5, 6 and 7. The weather was beautiful and, in addition to the many Brevard.
County participants, there were entrants from as far away as Jacksonville. (report
attached)
The 2" Annual Seniors Health Fair was held on November 10'. We're still in the process
of fine-tuning this event and although it was well attended, we believe that, it can be even
better. (report attached)
The Holiday Tree Lighting Program was held on December 12' in the Community Room
at the Library to a "standing room only" crowd. (report attached)
The Youth Center attendance for the quarter was:
October - 308
November - 212
December - 254
The Youth Center was open 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. daily (except Sunday) throughout the
long holiday school break (December 'W.-January 4").
