SEPTEMBER 11, 1962
A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Cape
Canaveral was held September 11, 1962 at 7:30 P.M., at the Recreation
Hall of the Cocoa Palms Trailer Park..
City Officials Present were; Mayor R. A. Jamieson, George Rogers, C.F.
Applegate, William Eberwine, A. D. Anderson, Leo B. Collins, City Clerk Shirley Jenkins
and City Attorney George Ritchie.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 4, 1962 were
read and corrected by the Council and on MOTION duly made, seconded
and unanimously passed were approved as read.
1. Mr. Rogers stated that Item 1 and 2 of the Agenda would
not be read these two items were; Minutes of the Zoning Board Public
Hearing of August 11, 1962 and the 2nd Item of the Minutes of the
Zoning Boards Public Hearing of August 22, 1962.
2. The next item of business was the Resolution for the
Bank Account for the City, after discussion with the Council, it
was agreed that Mr. George Rogers, Mr. Leo B. Collins and the City
Treasurer would sign all checks for the City of Cape Canaveral.
3.. Mr. Rogers asked the City Attorney to report as to what
had been done on the "LP" gas ordiance. Mr. Ritchie reported that he had
discussed this with the "LP" Gas Company and with the Electric and
Telephone and this will be consolidated into one Ordinance.
4. Mr. Rogers stated that there was no further business
on the Agenda and asked if there was any new business. The Mayor
stated there was the ABC Ordinance and that 'something had to be
done about. A general discussion was held on the ABC Ordinance
which had been vetoed by the Mayor because of the restriction of
hours. The City Attorney stated that the City required an Ordinance
passed before October 1, 1962 in order to receive its share of monies.

from the State. The Council asked Mr. Ritchie if an Ordinance had
to be read three times, the City Attorney stated, as long as adequate
notice is given, not necessarily three but at least two times. It
was agreed by the Council that the ABC Ordinance be accepted with the
exception of Section (3) HOURS OF SALE. The ABC Ordinance No. ____
with the exception of Section (3) was given the first reading.
Mr. Anderson stated that he had been contacted by Mr. Wolf (Wilr?),
of the TRI - STATE Bureau, Detective National Service, Inc., Cocoa, Fla.,
and he had offer to provide patrol service if paid. After discussion
with the Council it was agreed that Mr. Anderson contact Mr. Wolf (Wild)?
and invite him to the next regular meeting for discussion.
On MOTION duly made, seconded and passed unanimously meeting
was adjorned.
