HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 08-02-1962 SpecialMINUTES SPECIAL MEETING August 2, 1962 A Special Meeting of the City Council was held Thursday, August 2, 1962, at 7:30 P.M. in the Recreation Hall of the Cocoa Palms Trailer Park. City Officials Present: Aldermen George G. Rogers, A. D. Anderson, C. F. Applegate and W. J. Eberwein and City Clerk Jean K. Taylor. The meeting was called to order for the business of reading Ordinance #3 for the third time and to relinquish the ballots for the Election of August 7, 1962 to the Clerk of the Election, Mrs. Betty Anderson. ORDINANCE NO. 3-62 Ordinance Number 3-62 was given the third reading by the City Council. It is entitled "AN ORDINANCE LEVYING OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE TAXES ON BUSINESSES, PROFESSIONS, AND OCCUPATIONS, PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF LICENSES FOR BUSINESSES, PROFESSIONS, AND OCCUPATIONS IN THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA; ESTABLISHING LICENSE TAXES ON CERTAIN BUSINESSES, PROFESSIONS, AND OCCUPATIONS, PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT THEREOF, REGULATING THE CONDUCT AND SETTING FORTH CONDITIONS FOR THE ISSUANCE OF SAME; PRESCRIBING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE AND REPEALING ALL 0RDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. Section 28 was added during the third reading. On M0TION duly made, seconded and passed unanimously Ordinance No. 3 -62 was approved as read by the Council. The Clerk was directed to pass the Ordinance to the Mayor to be returned at the next Regular Meeting. A public announcement of City Hall being closed during the Election was made. 2 SPECIAL MEETING August 2, 1962 On MOTION duly made, seconded and passed unanimously the meeting, was adjourned. Jean K.
