September 22, 1997
MEMBERS PRESENT: Colin Finniaan,Bob Gorham,Marianne Kulac,Regina
Mead, Harvey Renshaw, Bill Schmidt,
MEMBERS ABSENT: John Datillo, Steve Roney and Richard Thurm
GUESTS: Buzz Petsos and Rocky Randels, Councilmen
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bob Gorham at 5:05 pm
Harvey Renshaw moved to accept the minutes of 6/2 as read. Marianne
Kulac seconded. Unanimously carried.
Regina Mead moved to accept the minutes of 7/28 as presented.
Harvey Renshaw seconded.
Nancy Hanson presented her reports.
FRDAP Grant is about to be turned over to the city.
Discussion ensued regarding a name change for the Long Point Project.
Perhaps a contest. Bill Schmidt moved the question, Marianne Kulac
seconded. Accepted unanimously.
Schedule of Fall Programs was reviewed. Ms. Hanson requesting
volunteers for Halloween and the Youth Center. Our Saviour Catholic
Church will have a Fair Oct 30 thru Nov. 2.
Discussion on getting information out to Seniors for more and
perhaps diversified use of the Youth Center. Ms Hanson feels
she can accomplish this with little difficulty.
The question of recommending an Alternate Member of the Board to fill
a vacancy was a miscue, as the Board Member was not resigning from
the Board, merely the position of Secretary. No action was taken
by the Advisory Board or the Council.
The question of a skate Board track was discussed. Perhaps the City
could enter into a joint endeavor to reactivate the track at
FAMILY FUN CENTER. Tabled for further discussion.
Next meeting will be December 1, 1997.
Harvey Renshaw moved to adjourn, Regina Mead seconded. Unanimously
passed. Meeting adjourned at 6:00 pm.
