FLORIDA 33920 TELEPNONE 3097931100 December 13, 1984 M E M O R A N D U M TO: MAYOR AND CITY. COUNCIL FROM: CITY MANAGER RE: CITY MANAGER'S REPORT -------------------------------- 1. The County .Administratoris in the process of reviewing the County Library Board's reorganization recommendation and probably will not report to the County Commissioner until after the first of the year. In the meantime, funding for part-time personnel at the Cape Canaveral Public Library is being withheld by the County. 2. With regard to the Dual Taxation Lawsuit, the Brevard League of Municipalities has decided to wait until after the Pensacola case decision has been issued by the Supreme Court. We have received a letter from Western Waste Industries, Inc., explaining improvements made in their operation and expressing an interest in continuing our garbage collection agreement. Future improvements are also con- templated. I am attaching the letter for your review. I suggest that we invite them to a Workshop in the near future to discuss their service. 4. The National Resources Committee of the Florida Senate will hold a special workshop at Brevard Community College on December 19 to discuss storm damage problems and legislative responses. Attached is the tentative Agenda and legislation under consideration.
