Again I want to ensure that the minutes accurately reflect my comments
and my attitude
towards the Cumberland Farms Exception Meeting last week,
Foremost it should known and conveyed that I tried to maintain a
neutral position with this project. I only wanted things done properly
for the benefit of our community as a whole. To start
off I thanked Attorney Nohrr for addressing my concerns regarding the
underground fuel tanks and also thanked the applicant for agreeing to a
historical cultural assessment of the land where the development would
take place. I went on to say that I did a Google keyword search that
revealed several cases of gas contamination issues by Cumberland Farms
including one in New Jersey, another actually with the Attorney General
Attorney's office of Vermont and even a mention of water contamination
in Cumberland Farms underground fuel tanks in Cocoa Florida. I said
these mistakes like most mistakes was something to learn from. I asked
if that board moved forward with this project that an environmental
impact study be performed that would measure all forms of pollution
including noise, storm-water runoff, light as well as the ground
contamination. I said that I lived at 209 Holman Road (house 3) and
these factors could affect us too, as well
as our neighbors across the way at Cape Shores.
If the minutes have been written up yet can you email what was written
regarding my comments?
